What is Supported Living Accommodation?
Quite simply, supported living accommodation is independent living with ingoing assistance and support from a dedicated team of carers. If you or someone that you know is living with a disability (either physical or learning) then you might consider living in your own apartment in Wellingborough or Bexhill but it the comforting knowledge that someone is there to meet your daily needs.
You may have heard supported or assisted living described and extra care housing. This means that you retain independence while you’re assisted with tasks such as washing, dressing, going to the toilet or taking medication. Whatever your needs are, they will be met.
Assisted living communities range from stand-alone residences in some cases, to being one level of care offered within a larger residence.
How Does Wellingborough and Bexhill Stand Out in Terms of Assisted Living?
Both apartment blocks are run by Wellgate Health and are of the highest standard. Wellgate have successfully run five care homes in Folkestone for many years. These homes specialise in residential care for adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
With the success of these residential homes is Kent, Wellgate health thought it was time to branch out and offer independent living facilities as some people prefer a level of independence over ongoing care.
Finding and kitting out the supported living apartments to the highest standard was a challenge worth under-taking.
